Well.....it all just gets chalked up to how the Internet works. I went wholly unnoticed for a few years, and only really got a base of people noticing my stuff in the last year or so. It all just took me getting enough stuff out there in a niche that's got loyal enough fans that are good about spreading the word.

It's all up to how you feel about it. I know plenty of people that upload great stuff that nobody ever sees, and it does hurt when you think that it's because nobody cares. A few of them don't look at it that way, though - try looking at this site as just a good place to collect your stuff. That way, if say a friend or someone wants to see what you can do, and you can't physically hand over a sketchbook (or uploading the pieces to them would take months...I'm looking at you, miss 690 deviations uploaded!) then this site works as just a handy collection of everything.

In the end though, all that really matters is, and I'll say it again, how you feel. If you just don't feel like uploading anything else, go for it. Just don't stop drawing, okay? :3

Aws. I think you've just changed my mind completely! It's true that this is like a portfolio of all my stuff I can just send to people without having to give them my stuff physically...I guess deleting so much would be a hassle too!

Yeah. I wouldn't put up too much of a fight if you decide to leave, since it's what you want...but DEFINITELY don't delete what you have! It's far too useful!

Though you've changed your mind, I completely understand everything you say in your entry. I'm not noticed either really, but I chalk it up to me not really having a talent xD.

Personally, i think it's very very easy to be overshadowed at dA. There's a lot of great stuff on here, but it seems to be very niche and catering to certain things... I love it and I love to see other people's works, it really inspires me to try harder to make myself better. But as a base for my art? I think dA is pretty bad for it personally, especially cause i'm not superb at, say, one niche thing like anime art or anthro or whatever. I try to take dA with a grain of salt cause it's just so easy to disappear here. It's great for stumbling upon new things, but I suppose i never got into the community.

I would say stay here, but dont put too much thought into it or take heart if you dont get x amount of comments... Maybe try branching out and seeing if you'd be good in other mediums... For example, i find the webcomic community far more rewarding and caring than people on dA, but maybe that's just because it tailors my own abilities much better.
